ACAU

ACAU is a client of the company where I'm currently working [Poddera], and it's a film and audiovisual agency in Uruguay. They are connected with Uruguay's Ministry of Education and Culture. The organization provides grants, calls, and opportunities for students and professionals in the audiovisual sector.

My task was to adapt our companys internal portal product to ACAUs brand and create the interface students would use to access calls and scholarships.

Because the organization only had a logo and a primary color, I first had to establish a minimal UI system that could support the portal structure while remaining consistent with their visual identity.

project

[THE CHALLENGE]:

The project presented two main challenges.

First, the client did not have a brand guideline or interface system. The only design asset available was the logo and its primary color.

Second, the portal product used by my company already had a predefined structure and functionality, which meant the design needed to adapt to existing constraints while still creating a coherent visual experience for ACAU users.

This required translating a minimal visual identity into a scalable interface system while respecting the technical structure of the existing product

[MINI DESIGN SYSTEM]:

Since no brand guide existed, I created a lightweight UI kit to support the portal interface.

The goal was to establish visual consistency across all screens while keeping the design simple and maintainable.

This allowed the portal to remain visually consistent while supporting the different user flows within the platform.

[MAIN PORTAL]:

The portal allows users to browse opportunities, apply to calls, and manage their applications.

The main interface is structured around a dashboard containing calls, applications, and user information; a clear data tables for browsing calls and status.

Because the platform handles institutional processes, clarity and usability were prioritised over visual complexity.

[USER SETTINGS]:

Another part of the project involved designing the user account area where users can manage their personal information.

The goal was to keep the interface straightforward so users could easily manage their information without confusion.

[CONCLUSIONS]:

This project highlighted the importance of designing within constraints.

Working from a minimal visual identity required translating a single brand element into a usable interface system
