about me

Once I heard this question:

"If you had to say who you are without mentioning your job or where you’re from, what would you say?"

It made me realize that who we are is less about labels and more about how we think, our hobbies and personality.

So here we go:

It made me realize that who we are is less about labels and more about how we think, our hobbies and personality.

So here we go:

Hi! My name is Sonya.

But between people making fun of my name when I was little and people mispronouncing it now, I ended up hating it.

That’s why my logo is /so.nia/.

It’s inspired by the fact that I’ve always had to explain how my name is pronounced, and by the phonetic transcription found in dictionaries, which I use as a visual and conceptual resource.

I love analog and instant photography, and I enjoy experimenting with analog techniques and mixing them with digital ones.

I’m one of those people who believe that AI is here to stay, not as a threat, but as a tool—another global shift we need to learn how to use consciously and responsibly.

I’m also a curious person. Curiosity is what drives me to question everyday things, from how technology works to small, almost absurd details of daily life—like why cats’ eyes glow in the dark or why touchscreens respond to fingers but not to other objects.

I’m restless by nature. I enjoy learning constantly and exploring different disciplines, even if only to understand them on a surface level.

So, who I finally am?

If this resonates with you, let's start a project together 🚀

I’m a calm, creative person; empathy is an important part of how I relate to others and how I work.

I've a strong visual sensibility, especially in photography and video. I love minimalism, both visually and as a lifestyle. I adapt easily, I feel connected to nature and everything retro, and I tend to see potential and beauty in ordinary objects.

I’d say I’m a calm, creative person, always searching for “aesthetics,” with a strong visual eye (photography and video). I love minimalism, both visually and as a lifestyle. I adapt easily, I love nature and everything retro, I see potential in things others consider ordinary—like parking receipts—and I’m empathetic. Did I manage to describe who I am well? If you like who I am, don’t hesitate to contact me!
